Terms of Service
last updated 2026-05-19
The short version
Steady is a daily voice check-in app. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a clinician. Your entries are yours; we store and process them on your behalf to make the app work. You agree to use Steady honestly and not to abuse it. We can change these terms or stop running Steady, but we'll give you notice and let you export your data first.
Who you are agreeing with
Steady is operated by Samy as an independent project. By creating an account, you agree to these terms with the operator. Contact: samynaayma@gmail.com.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Steady. By creating an account you confirm that you meet that minimum age and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
What Steady is
Steady is a private observation log designed to help athletes recovering from long rehab notice patterns in their own data over time. You record a short voice check-in once a day. Steady transcribes it, structures it, and shows it back to you. It also generates one short observation per entry.
Your account
You sign in with an email magic link or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure. If you suspect someone else has signed into your Steady account, email samynaayma@gmail.comand we'll revoke active sessions and help you recover.
One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent paid features or product limits.
What you can use Steady for
Personal, non-commercial use. Record your own check-ins, browse your own log, learn from your own patterns.
What you can't do:
- Use Steady to record someone else without their knowledge or consent.
- Upload content that doesn't belong to you, that infringes someone else's rights, or that is unlawful.
- Attempt to break, probe, or reverse-engineer the security of Steady or its underlying services.
- Scrape, automate, or programmatically interact with the app outside of how it's designed to be used.
- Resell Steady or use it as a layer inside another product without prior written agreement.
- Use Steady to harass or harm yourself or anyone else.
If you do any of the above, we may suspend or terminate your account.
Your content
Your check-ins, transcripts, structured entries, and observations are yours. You own them. You retain full ownership and copyright in everything you record.
You grant Steady a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, and process your content strictly for the purpose of providing the service to you (transcribing audio, structuring text, generating observations, displaying your log back to you). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not show your content to anyone else. We do not sell or licence your content to third parties.
Subscriptions and payments
Steady is free during the current early-access period. If we introduce paid plans, the price and terms will be displayed clearly at checkout, processed by Stripe, and governed by the specific subscription terms shown at that point. You will never be charged without explicit confirmation. Refunds are handled case-by-case at samynaayma@gmail.com.
Availability
We aim to keep Steady running smoothly. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Steady depends on third-party services (Supabase, OpenAI, Vercel) — when one of them is down, Steady may be partly or fully down. We will not be liable to you for outages caused by our providers, but we will work to restore service quickly.
We may also take Steady offline for maintenance, security work, or product changes. Where possible we will notify you in advance.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing samynaayma@gmail.com from the email address attached to your account. All data tied to your account will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. payment receipts for tax purposes).
We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if running your account would expose us or our providers to legal risk. Where the breach is not deliberate we will normally email you first and give you a chance to fix it.
We can also shut down Steady entirely. If that happens, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and let you export your data before access is removed.
No medical advice
This bears repeating. The observations and prompts Steady shows you are not medical advice, not diagnostic, and not therapeutic. They are reflections drawn from your own words by a language model. Do not make medical decisions based on Steady output. If something Steady surfaces concerns you, talk to a doctor or physiotherapist.
Disclaimers
Steady is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Steady's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to Steady in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred euros.
Steady will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of data, lost profits, or harm arising from any decision you make in reliance on Steady output.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Steady and its operator from claims, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable lawyers' fees) arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the competent courts of Paris, France. If you are a consumer based outside France, mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply where they are more protective than these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when we add features, change providers, or our legal context changes. The current version is always at this page, with the date at the top. If a change is material, we will email active users at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of Steady after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, delete your account before the change takes effect.
